Dr. Emma Hack has degrees in Medicine and Arts at the University of Western Australia. She completed basic physician training at Royal Darwin Hospital in the Northern Territory before undertaking advanced training in geriatric medicine at Austin Health, Northern Health and St. Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.  

Emma has broad experience ranging from working in rural and remote outreach clinics in the Northern Territory, to caring for residents in aged care facilities in Melbourne during the COVID-19 pandemic.  

She is a member of the International Psychogeriatric Association and Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine.  

Emma’s interests include dementia, delirium, cognitive assessment, management of polypharmacy, falls prevention, advanced care planning and capacity assessment. She is an advocate for optimal care for residents in the aged care setting and has expertise in management of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia. Emma’s publications include research exploring palliative care during the COVID-19 pandemic in aged care facilities in Victoria.
